A Shared Call for Transparency
As current actions by ICE target racial minority populations in our community based on their perceived resident status, the JACL Honolulu chapter advocates for transparency from local and state officials as well as the affirmation of constitutionally protected rights. These committments are reinforced in the ACLU Hawaiʻi statement below. As you will notice, the JACL Honolulu signed on in support of this statement alongside other, allied organizations.
